I filmed birds flying in a group above the pier, this will go with the voice over as I want my main character to be talking about the importance of freedom. I am using the birds as a symbol of being free.
good idea - look for more location opportunities like this - e.g., you could take a shot of 4 girls going out, lots of noise and use it as one shot to give a contrasting sense to your lead character
your secondary characters - these will need acting, but could you have more who only figure in a frame for 1 second so no acting?
it looks like your film will need to be very intense and intimate - the script would need a lot of high quality dramatic dialogue - is this your intention? shots would have to be slow nd extended - try Lynne Ramsey's Ratcatcher and Movern Callar, her two earlier films, and see trailer for her We Need To Talk About Kevin - may not suit but worth a look - would give you a director study too
